Helping people find Jesus and live like Him
Everything we do points to this mission.
We create environments at Revolution where people that don’t follow Jesus are comfortable coming and getting involved. We even have this crazy stance that you are allowed to belong before you believe. Every Sunday there are people that follow Jesus and many that haven’t yet taken that step. We are an “enter at your own pace” kind of church, yet we often invite people on Sundays to begin the journey of following Christ. We give people an opportunity to “find Jesus,” and it is a bold step at Revolution. People all over the room stand to their feet and confess that Jesus is who He said He is and we need Him (Romans 10:9). Hundreds of people have started the journey of faith at Revolution Community Church at the Sunday Gathering.
But, we don’t want faith to stop there.
We have a strong desire for people to become disciples of Jesus that love Christ and love others (Matthew 22:37-39). A few statements you’ll hear all of the time around Revolution are “come as you are, but don’t stay that way,” and “it’s okay to not be okay, but don’t stay not okay.” It’s just our way of saying don’t stop at beginning a relationship with Jesus…keep growing, and knowing, and following Jesus more every day. Revolution has created many environments for this to happen from life groups, to counseling, to serve teams, and beyond.
We define church as a movement on a mission. The church is not a building with stained glass, pews, and a steeple. There's nothing wrong with those elements, and there's nothing wrong with a building, but that's not the church. We believe the church is a group of people that are moving more toward Jesus together, and we invite you to join us on that journey.
Revolution is a church for people who don't connect with church as usual. If you visit our Logansport campus you might think this as you're pulling up. "Huh, this sure doesn't look like a church." If you visit on a Sunday you might leave thinking "huh, that didn't feel like the churches I've been in." As you'll read in our values below we believe that church should be fun. Sunday is a party! And the people that make up Revolution are real people. No need for fake smiles or wearing your Sunday best. We try not to use churchy language or do things for tradition's sake. We want next steps to be simple and understandable, and we're ready to connect with you.
At Revolution we imagine3:20. We dream big and act bold! Revolution is full of big dreamers and people willing to act boldly. We truly believe that God is just getting started with this movement, and as we step out in faith, the best is yet to come.
The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is God's word to all. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures are inspired by God and are infallible and inerrant in the original manuscripts. They are the unique, full and final authority on all matters of faith and practice, and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God. (Isaiah 40:8; II Peter 1:21; II Timothy 3:16-17).
We believe that God is eternally existent, co-equal in three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:28; Matthew 28:18; Luke 3:22; John 1:1).
We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, in His virgin birth and sinless life; that He is 100% God and 100% man; that He died as a redeeming substitute for our sins, was buried and bodily resurrected, and ascended to the right hand of the Father; and, in His personal return in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14, 53:5; Matthew 1:23; John 1:14; Acts 2:29-36; Galatians 3:13; Hebrews 4:15; Philippians 2:6-11; I Thessalonians 4:16; I Timothy 2:5).
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity, whose present ministry is convicting us of our sins; and, who indwells the Christian; comforting, teaching and empowering the Christian to lead a godly life. (Ezekiel 36:27; Matthew 3:11; John 14: 16-17, 16:8; Acts 1:8).
We believe that man was created in the image of God to be in fellowship with God and to reconcile the earth to God. We believe man was tempted by Satan, fell under the influence of sin, became disobedient to God by choice and was helpless to restore himself, thus forsaking his divine mission in life. Man is the object of God's love in Jesus Christ, who came so that man could resume his original divine mission in life. (Genesis 1:26-28; John 3:15-17; Romans 3:23, 5:12-21; I Corinthians 3:5-10, 16:8; Acts 1:8).
Salvation is a gift from God to all people. Men and women can never make up for their sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can a person be saved from sin's penalty. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10, 13).
People are created to exist forever. Every person will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is heaven. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence. (Matthew 6:20-21; Revelation 20:11-15, 21:8).
We believe that Satan rebelled against God; became the author of sin; is at war with God for control of the earth; is the enemy of God and man and that he and his followers shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. (Job 1:6; Matthew 4:1-11; Luke 22:31; Ephesians 6:11-12; Revelation 20:10).
Our Core Values
At Revolution Community Church we hold tightly to what matters most and loosely to what doesn’t. These core values guide where we focus our time and energy as an organization. Staff will be radically committed to these core values and live them out personally and enthusiastically encourage others to do so as well.
Our Bottom Line: We will do anything short of sin to reach people far from Christ!
AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY [Hebrews 10:24-25, Romans 12:4-5, 1 Peter 3:8, Proverbs 27:17]
You can’t follow Jesus in isolation. In a world plagued by individualism and loneliness, the church is an example of wholeness. We rest in the comfort and grow through the challenge of each other.
AUDACIOUS GENEROSITY [2 Corinthians 9:7-9, Proverbs 3:27, Deuteronomy 16:17, John 3:16]
Don’t cling tightly to your resources, time, and giftedness. God gave it all to you for the good of us all. Live an open handed life. The church should lead the way in being the most generous group of people on the planet in every area.
PASSIONATE WORSHIP [2 Samuel 6:16, Psalm 84:2, Psalm 63:1]
There shouldn’t be any group or gathering on the planet as fun and crazy as people that get together to worship Jesus. Gatherings at Revolution are like a party where the family gets together and we sing together, celebrate, encourage, and challenge each other to be more like Jesus.
RELEVANT TRUTH [Matthew 6-7, Luke 4:18-19, Ephesians 4:29, 1 Corinthians 9:19-22]
Application is everything. Following Jesus isn’t about knowing stuff; it’s about doing stuff. Everything that is taught at Revolution is done in a practical nature, and we want to apply truth to our lives by any means necessary. We utilize the tools of modern music, media, books and whatever it takes to relate to the culture of north central Indiana and beyond to illustrate the truth of Christ.
NEXT GENERATION [Psalm 127:3-5, Matthew 21:15-16, Matthew 18:2-10, Luke 18:15-17]
We believe that children and youth are extremely valuable in the kingdom of God and we create unique, relational environments for them to take next steps. We relentlessly evangelize and disciple the next generation.
NEXT STEPS [Ephesians 4:12-16, Philippians 1:6, Psalm 1:1-3, 1 Corinthians 13:10-12]
We are a gathering of people who are continually in process. It’s not about stopping or starting; it’s about continually and endlessly stepping. No one is finished growing into all that God has created and called them to be.
UNASHAMED MULTIPLICATION [Mark 16:15, Matt. 16:18, Matt. 28:19-20, Romans 1:16]
Everything at Revolution has a multiplication goal. We want to multiply the amount of people that are followers of Christ. We want to multiply our Sunday Gatherings. We want to multiply leaders. We want to multiply our entire church where Revolution Community Churches exist all over the Midwest and beyond.
IMPERFECTION REQUIRED [Romans 3:23, Romans 8:8, 1 Thessalonians 5:14, Romans 14:1]
We are a "come as you are" church. There is no dress code. It's completely your choice to wear khakis or jeans, a dress or sweats and a t-shirt when attending any event or gathering. Whatever your circumstances; single, married, single again, with or without children, and no matter where you've been or what you've done, you matter to God and you will experience the difference here.
EXCELLENCE IN EVERYTHING [Colossians 3:23, 1 Corinthians 9:24-25, Ecclesiastes 9:10]
Doing our best for God is one of the top priorities of Revolution Church because He deserves it. We believe that there is no reason to do something unless it can be done with excellence. This relates to everything and everyone at Revolution.
LOL [Proverbs 17:22, Ecclesiastes 2:24, 1 Corinthians 10:31, Exodus 32:6]
Nothing should be more fun than serving God with the people you love. At Revolution we try to have fun every weekend and with everything we do.
