What is changing?

Our Lead and Founding Pastor Anthony Cozzello is stepping into a new season of life and out of the pastoral role at Revolution Community Church.  He and his family will be embracing a new role as Campus Pastor of EnGedi Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Why is Pastor Anthony leaving?

From Pastor Anthony: "After clearing room for the Holy Spirit to speak into my life and the life of my family, God made it clear to Shawna and I that our time of ministry at Revolution was coming to a close. This was confirmed when we reconnected with EnGedi Church, a church we have been connected with for 5+ years, and were offered the opportunity to help relaunch a campus of their church in Grand Rapids, Michigan."

Why is this happening right after Anthony's sabbatical?

From Pastor Anthony: "Although I’ve wrestled with some guilt over taking a 3 month sabbatical and arriving at this decision of a transition from Revolution I know that the sabbatical was a gift for my years of service, not something that is required to pay back. Our family did not anticipate coming to this conclusion through the sabbatical, but upon arriving back at the church, and through counsel and prayer, and many other things, we believe we’ve clearly heard from God on His calling to take this next step in ministry.”

When is this transition happening?

Pastor Anthony will be continue on staff thru December 12th.

Are we doing something to honor Pastor Anthony and hi family's years of ministry?

Yes! We are excited to celebrate the more than 11 years of ministry that Anthony, Shawna, and their children have poured into our community.  We invite EVERYONE to join us Sunday, December 12th as we celebrate them, what God has done over the last 11 years, and what God has in store NEXT for Revolution.

What does this mean for Revolution?

We'll have some movement of staff responsibilities, but ministries and operations will look like they have. We remain focused on the mission of helping people find Jesus and live like Him by Celebrating, Connecting, and Contributing. Our Board and Staff team will continue leading the vision and we work together to accomplish the mission with you, the people who make up the movement of Revolution.

How will Sundays look going forward?

Sundays at Revolution will look pretty much the same going forward. The Celebrate atmosphere that is welcoming to those from all walks of life will continue to define our Sunday Gatherings.  And we will continue to be intentional about being a place that connects with those who have found "church" hard to connect with.

Who will give the Talk on Sundays?

Our incredible speaking team, which you have heard and seen over the years including this summer, will continue to speak biblical truths from a practical, life-giving, and tangible perspective each week. We will also hear from partners in our NewThing Network and other guest speakers from time to time.

When will we have a new Lead pastor?

Our board and staff team will be working on a transition plan, the details of which can be found here on our transition details page.

There seems to be a lot of turnover.

Is something going on?

Change and turnover are normal parts of healthy, growing organizations. Revolution has been blessed with a staff team who have a passion for serving God wherever He may lead. Sometimes God leads team members to serve in new ways – sometimes in another church or even another state. When this happens, they say yes to His prompting and we support them in following where God leads them.  We  support the vision and passion for people to serve THE CHURCH, the global movement of Jesus followers of which Revolution is a part.
